Corona del Mar (Newport Beach, Calif.) saw its hopes for the Southern Section Division 1A title come to an end Tuesday night in a 47-44 loss to Pasadena.
But don’t blame sophomore Dennis Rodman Jr., who paced the Sea Kings with 24 points. See the highlights above.
The son of NBA eccentric, rebound hound and Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, Dennis Jr. (“D.J.”) just capped a breakout campaign at Corona del Mar.
A 6-foot-4 wing, Rodman Jr. averaged 19.6 points per game and helped the Sea Kings go 22-8. He went for a career-high 40 in a playoff win over Dominguez (Compton) last week.
Speaking to OCVarsity.com about his star sophomore Tuesday, Corona del Mar head coach Ryan Schachter had high praise.
